Why the Spring Market is so HOT!
One of the most common questions asked of realtors is “how is the market”? This year is no different. We are continually keep an eye on the overall market nationwide, but we also base a lot of our answers around what we are witnessing and experiencing here locally. I’m happy to say that here in DFW, the market is heating up!
We are experiencing what I would describe as a typical spring market! Colleagues and I have all seen an upswing of inquiries, listings, and buyers. “Now that mortgage rates have stabilized, the spring buyers and sellers have started to enter the market,” said Blake Barry, 2024 President of the Greater Fort Worth Association of REALTORS®. Active listings were up 29.9 percent year-over-year in Fort Worth in March, and the average days a house stays on the market decreased to 50.
Here’s why it’s a great idea to get into the spring market, whether you are a buyer or seller, or both!
Spring brings out an abundance of buyers: school is letting out, the weather is nice, and people feel aspirational this time of year.
Homes and neighborhoods look their best: the gray skies have cleared, the grass has greened, and buyers appreciate the outdoor features of a home like patios, pools, and yards this time of year.
Increasing inventory offers a better chance of matching buyers to homes that fits their needs and wants with less compromising (we all remember the pandemic limited housing inventory, right?). This is good for both buyers AND sellers because we all want a positive transaction and not have wishy-washy parties on either side.
